This is really quite disturbing when you think about it. No wonder there's so much religious conflict and bigotry when people don't even know what it's all about.

When I was young and very unformed, I went through a fundamentalist stage myself. I was VERY threatened by anything that represented something other than what I NEEDED to believe to be true...a very sad state of affairs, both for myself and for anyone else who tried to have a reasonable conversation with me.
