"In the post-meditative experience become a child of illusion" is a slogan from the Tibetan mind training tradition. We engage the world as we experience it all the while realizing that reality is not as it seems to be.
That's funny, but in a sad way because it feels and appears to be so true. Both men were/are powerfully motivating speakers, seemed to be willing to stand behind their words and act on them, but while Dr. King followed his words with actions, Mr. Obama, for the most part, hasn't. And he could have (and still could I think) if he would just trust that the people still believe in what he stands for...but he's become caught up in what congressfolks and senators say and think of him and what corporations say and think of him. But maybe he doesn't have the fire and gumption of Dr. King to actually go against mainstream and do what is right and needed. Blech.
