Today's Congress

You know, this is actually heartbreaking as far as I'm concerned:

We no longer search for the best ideas or the best policies. Now you are either an ally or a traitor.

It IS heartbreaking Ellie...whatever happened to the idea of statesmanship?...it is all so ugly and discordant.

  2. This is so true and very discouraging. The vitriol and refusal to work together and get things done seems to be at an all time high. I place the blame largely on the far right wing of the Republican Party, the Tea Party minority, and the spineless politicians they seem to control. Our political process is beginning to look like a bad reality TV show and we are all going to pay the price.

THIS. Discourse has descanded so far down into the garbage that it's impossible to get anything accomplished. I can't even decribe it properly.

Divide & conquer. It has always worked.

  4. To Annie, Stacy and Tracie. Yes, to all each of you has said.

I'm mindful also, however, that I posted this before the "Occupy" movement that has spread all over the world now. Just maybe there's hope.
