Mother Maryann said in church last Sunday that Black Friday sales were up by a billion dollars from last year, the biggest jump since 2007 (before the recession). What worries me is that next year stores will just open even earlier and force their employees to give up Thanksgiving entirely...some stores already open Thursday evening now. This whole thing is just getting ridiculous and sadly I don't see it getting better anytime soon.
