I understand your point -- and it's a good one -- but I am a little uneasy with crediting the slowest spending in 50 years to Barack Obama. That's not what he wants, nor is it sound economic policy. We need more spending, not less. If we had increased stimulus spending to levels recommended by Paul Krugman, we would be so much better off today than we are now.

Oh, I completely agree with you, Bryan. My main point here (as I'm sure you understand) is about raising the debt ceiling.
