I posted this wonderful passage from the
Talmud over on
Meditation Matters but I think it belongs here too. It's so easy to get discouraged with all the distressing news that's out there and that we really need to know about lest we slip into the mind poison of delusion. But we also need encouragement to keep on keeping on. This fits the bill:
Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief. Do justly, now. Love mercy, now. Walk humbly, now. You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.
So let us go forward and take heart and do what we can to make the world a better place.
