It's funny when I think about it, how all of our "civil liberties" have been granted as a result of being permitted by others to have them; e.g.:
ReplyDeletewomen were "given"the right to vote by men
blacks and people of color were "given" their freedom by a dominant white culture
and now, if gay people ARE ever allowed to marry, it will only come about as the result of non-gays, deciding they should have that right.
please correct me if I am worng.

I LOVE this sign! It's helping me piece out what I think about an NPR story I heard this morning about birth control falling under preventative care in a single-payer health system. They had a conservative say how it wouldn't be fair for those who are against birth control to have to pay for it. (I could understand the position, but it did make me angry, nonetheless.)
