Well, Cheney just lied through his teeth on Meet the Press this morning. He insisted that Zarqawi was the link between Iraq and Al Qaeda in spite of the fact that just on Friday the Senate the Senate Intelligence Committee released a report that concluded there was no relationship between Saddam Hussein and Zarqawi. You can either watch the video or read the transcript of the pertinent exchange right here on Think Progress. Fortunately Tim Russert called him on it. But Cheney covered his lies by saying that he hadn't seen the report.
Somone on AMERICAblog said the following:
Soon Cheney wiil say that the Senate findings would be different if they had access to the information he has seen. Seems to me Cheney pulled this BS with the 9/11 Commission and no one called him on it for either witholding evidence, impeding the investigation or obstruction of justice. Could not get him for perjury, because neither he nor W gave sworn testimony. Cheney will get a media pass again and the Senate report will fade fast from public attention.
Sadly, I agree.
UPDATE: Here's a link for the transcript of the entire conversation between Tim Russert and Vice President Cheney.
