It bothers me that the newspapers are dying.

Hello, folks.

I know that times change and that print newspapers may well be going the way of the steam locomotive. However, right now I'm concerned about the lack of first rate investigative reporting. I don't think the blogs are able to pick up that slack.

And so, the cartoon below (that I found over on All Hat No Cattle) expresses my dismay about the matter:

  1. I was so sad to hear that the last (and second) Seattle newspaper will no longer be printed. It's tragic for our country, especially locally.

  2. Anonymous9:17 PM

I'm not so sure that investigative reporting (except for very isolated cases) did not die many, many years ago. I think that is part of the reason that print newspapers are now dying themselves. People quit buying/reading them because they no longer trusted what they had to say.
