In reference to Amnesty International, Bush said:
Of course, what he meant was "dissemble,"It seemed like to me they based some of their decisions on the word of and the allegations by people that were held in detention, people who hate America, people who have been trained in some instances to disassemble, that means not to tell the truth.
There's been a lot of ironic snark about this on various liberal blogs over the past few days. It's entered the Bushisms lexicon - like "the internets" and "nucular". My goodness, it's embarrassing to have a president who regularly brutalizes the language.
And then, of course, why wouldn't people hate America if they were detained, mistreated, and then released due to complete lack of evidence against them?
