Say something about that in the comments if you're so inclined.Imagine what Obama could have done if he had thrown his full weight behind a plan with a real public option. If he had allocated even a fraction of the time, money and energy that was spent on selling the invasion of Iraq, he could have made it impossible for Congress not to pass a bill without at least a Medicare buy-in.

Of course I blame the House and the Senate for their poor performance and blatant show of selfishness while attempting to pass a reform bill, but, yes, the buck stops with Obama. It is understandable that he was overwhelmed in his first year with trying to clean up the mess the shrub had left for him... I'm still firmly behind Obama and hope that something can be salvaged in the form of insurance reform.
